- Hand-knotted with a high knot density, approximately 200-270 knots per square inch. Uneven knots on the back indicate it is hand-made.
- Material: Wool pile with a cotton foundation.
- Design: Intricate floral motifs and borders, characteristic of Sarouk rugs.
- Color: Multicolor with a dominant rose/red field, may have developed a patina over time.
- Size: 54 inches x 39 inches (4.5 ft x 3.25 ft).
- Origin: Woven in the Markazi Province of Iran, in the village of Saruk, the city of Arak, or the surrounding countryside.
- Age: Vintage (20+ years old). Sarouk rugs were popular in the American market in the early 1900s.
- Condition: Good, consistent with age. Natural fibers and dyes used.
- Style: Traditional Persian.
- Pile: Thick and lush.
- Features: Durable and long-lasting due to high-quality wool and construction.
- Note: Some Sarouk rugs were re-dyed for the American market, resulting in a bolder red color.
